Thomas Hart is again elected mayor of Boston.

December 12, 1899

Hart (R), with 40,838 votes, defeats Patrick Collins (D), with 38,557, to win another term as mayor. Hart’s victory is due in part to a split in the voting among Democratic candidates and by assistance from ward boss Martin Lomasney.
